The Dark Knight The 8-Bit Game

We were all fans of the 8-bit/16-bit era of games, from Super Mario World to the Legend of Zelda. These were the days when the graphics, in our minds were more realistic than what was outside the front door. Graphics couldn't get any better.

Well as you know things have changed greatly since then, but what if things had never changed, what if circles were still squares, what if they made a game of say... The Dark Knight.

Well now that 'what if' has been answered here by CineFix.

Return Of The Video Cassette (T-shirts)

Great 80s graphic design is where you find it - and what better source than 80s blank video cassette covers...

Here's a new set of T-shirt designs inspired by video cassette cover graphics - with classic simulated distressed effect and all the usual 'premium grade', 'ultra colour', 'heavy-duty' nonsense. Check out the set at the Spicetag Etsy site and at Spicetag.com.

Reinventing The Wheel

We've seen some crazy things in our time, but very little turn out to be a piece of genius. Have a look at this...

This is a short video outlining the concept behind the square skateboard wheel by Shark - it might look odd (as it's kind of square) but surprisingly effective. It's a great piece of product design and Shark have even created a number of models and colours to suite a wide range of skateboarders. Check out the vid right here.

Austin Allegro T-shirts...

When it comes to our car T-shirt designs, we try to cater for as many different car enthusiasts as we can - but not everyone loves the hot hatches and rare supercars...

Why not have icons of the 70s British motor industry? Cars that you wouldn't expect to find on a T-shirt?Sounds like a good idea...

ALLEGRO T-SHIRT

Here is an Austin Allegro, a true classic British motoring icon. Ingeniously styled by Italdesign, the Allegro is apparently more aerodynamic in reverse than in going forward. Here's our tribute T-shirt at Spicetag.com.

ALLEGRO EQUIPE T-SHIRT

Like the the Escort Mexico of 1970 and the Cavalier Calibre of 1987, the Allegro also had a special counterpart - the Allegro Equipe of 1979 with 91 bhp and a 0-60 time of 10 seconds, this vehicle was top draw in it's day...possibly. The Allegro Equipe T-shirt is available at Spicetag.com.

What does the Fox say?

There's a new video in town - it's called The Fox by Ylvis, and it's gone viral...

The dog says 'woof', the cat says 'meow', bird says 'tweet, mouse says 'meek', cow says 'moo', frog says 'croak', elephant says 'toot', duck says 'quark', fish says 'blub', seal says 'ow ow ow' - but what does the fox say?

Well, you can find out exactly what by watching the video right here.

THE FOX T-SHIRT

Just in case you forget, we've made a T-shirt of what nature's animals say at the Spicetag Etsy site and at Spicetag.com.

BOO! Radiation Scare T-shirt

We're well into simple pixel designs at the mo, and couldn't resist a go at the classic radiation symbol...

We've been meaning to put a twist on this symbol for a while - and have given it a light hearted touch of comedy. The yellow design is available at the Spicetag Etsy site and at Spicetag.com.

What's more is that we've got a black glow in the dark T-shirt available - made of Glow Flex vinyl, you can get it exclusively at the Spicetag Etsy site.

The Monumite

We've been getting into Marmite recently - the "Love it or hate it" food spread. Yes, as amateurs we've been caught out by being a little over zealous with the amount we've applied to the toast (wincing, watery eyes) but overall we like the stuff.

While browsing online about the history of this heavy-tasting food, we came across this...

This is the Monumite - built in 2010, it's a £15k giant Marmite jar sculpted from Portland limestone and placed overlooking the river in the heart of Burton on Trent.

Here's the really cool part - visitors who make a pilgrimage to this Marmite shrine will be able to download content to their smart phone or tablet through a  Bluetooth transmitter, such as pictures, history and an animation of how Marmite is made.

Love it or hate is, this is a cool piece of sculpture - with a cool modern element.

The Hippos Are Back...

Hippos mostly feed on foliage, but in the 1980s they mostly fed on plastic balls - FACT.

You know the game - four hippos face each other in binge-eating combat. Make sure your Hippo gobbles as many plastic balls as possible. If your Hippo has munched more than the other three, you win. That's it.

Here's a new set of T-shirts to commemorate this great game - with colours to match the modern format. Check them out at the Spicetag Etsy site and at Spicetag.com.

Split Man Prank

It's Monday, it's grim weather, so here's a video to brighten up your day...

We don't know how comedian Andy Gross does this (magic, we think) but have a watch here - the people's reactions are hilarious.

Spicetag Solardappa

We've done T-shirts, hoodies, sweaters, jackets, bags, babygrows - and now a set of daps.

This is the Solardappa - each pair hand painted in house. The galaxy style is well in at the moment so these will go well with anything, however we strongly recommend Spicetag clothing...

The Solardappa design is available in laced and slip on styles with a protective surface layer coating to keep the weather elements from spoiling their luster.

Soladappas are hand made to order, so if you're looking for something truly original, give us a shout through Spicetag.com.

The Genesis Of Electro Music

We've come across a fantastic film about the origination of electro synth music...

The film is called Moog and it proves that electro music didn't originate from outer space - it came from the eclectic mind of Bob Moog, the inventor of the Moog Synthesizer and considered by most the pioneer of electronic music. Check out this great film right here.

Spicetag Meets Lance Henriksen

ComicCon came to Cardiff on the weekend. As usual at ComicCon, you get to meet and get autographs from some of the great personalities from TV and film - however this year was a must-attend for us, because the star of the show was the great Lance Henriksen.

Lance Henriksen has been in some of our favourite movies - he shot at the T-800 in The Terminator, helped Ripley and Newt escape LV-426 in Aliens and hunted down Jean-Claude Van Damme in Hard Target (one of the best bad guys we've seen) - so it was essential that we met him.

Lance saw our Bishop T-shirt a mile off and met it with a surprised "holy s**t" before signing it to become one of our most valued tees. We spoke of our love for his characters, which he kindly appreciated. We got a great photo signed of Lance as Bishop with the message 'not bad for a human' and posed for the photo above, that we're going to frame.

Many thanks to Lance for making our day and being a genuinely great guy - and that Bishop T-shirt is now a Spicetag prized possession.
